Review and Optimisation of Core Concepts:
Participants will refreshing their knowledge of data import and connection techniques. Participants will learn data modelling for improved performance, techniques for creating impactful reports and visualisations, explore cloud features and functionalities for collaborative workspaces, dashboards, and apps.
Advanced Data Transformations and Query Techniques:
Participants will learn efficient data transformations with conditional columns & columns from examples, combining files from a folder to streamline process, Cloud Based Query Building Best Practices, referencing queries for complex data manipulations, overcoming Layout Limitations with custom mapping and sorting, building a star schema from a flat file for optimised data modeling, and handling multiple fact tables for comprehensive analysis
Enhanced Data Visualisation and Storytelling Techniques:
Participants will learn how to optimise KPI cards for effective data communication, select appropriate visuals based on context and data insights, utilise report templates to streamline report creation, enhance reports with tooltip report pages and custom page sizing, implement drill-down functionality to provide deeper insights, use visuals to represent complex data relationships, add analysis features to visuals for enhanced data exploration and group and binning data to uncover patterns and trends
Calculations with DAX:
Participants will gain mastery of iterator functions for complex calculations, referencing / leveraging inactive relationships in the data model, explore the capabilities of HasOneValue function, implement index functions for baseline comparisons and value retrieval, utilise offset functions for relative value comparisons, and apply window functions for running totals and moving averages.
Advanced Security and Governance:
Participants will master implementing dynamic row-level security for enhanced data protection, mapping user IDs to the data model for personalised access, utilising DAX functions for returning usernames, and assigning users to Power BI security roles for controlled access.

Participants will learn how to use cross filtering and cross highlighting, understanding the various types of Drill-Downs, Drill-Downs in combination with cross highlighting, Drilling Through to another Report Page, using Focus Mode and 'See Details', using 'Quick Analysis' to explain results, using Charts as Slicers, using the Filter Pane

As our Power BI Advanced training course follows on from our Power BI Foundations course, delegates who attend this course are required to have completed the Foundations course or have practical experience and understanding of our Foundation course topics. This course is designed to provide delegates with a deeper understanding of Power BI Concepts enabling them to create highly effective reports.
You are welcome to invite up to 2 people from you organisation to attend our online 1/2 day end user training. Once you have ordered the ‘Advanced Package’ offer, we will contact you to choose your preferred dates and let us know who will be attending.
Those attending the ‘End User Training do not need to have Power BI Desktop installed on their system. We will provide you with a Power BI pro account to use for the duration of the course. The course focuses on the Power BI cloud service only, and we will provide you with access to this environment. Those attending our online courses, should have access to 2 screens.
