What are the prerequisites for the Power BI Advanced course?
You should either have completed our Power BI Foundations course or already have practical experience with Power BI Desktop, data modelling, Power Query, report building and basic DAX.
The Advanced course builds on these fundamentals rather than teaching them from the beginning.
What do I need for a Power BI training course?
Delegates need a Windows laptop with the latest version of Power BI Desktop installed and permission to install or update the software if required.
We provide the training files and digital course materials. For live online training, we recommend using two screens where possible so that you can follow the trainer on one screen while working in Power BI on the other.
We also provide a Power BI Pro account for use during the course.
Do you offer Power BI training in London?
Yes. We provide private instructor-led Power BI training in London for organisations and teams, with dates arranged to suit your requirements.

Do I need Excel experience to learn Power BI?
No. You do not need advanced Excel skills to learn Power BI.
Experience working with spreadsheets and data can be helpful, but our Power BI Foundations course starts with the core concepts and is suitable for beginners.
If you already use Excel features such as PivotTables, Power Query or formulas, some concepts may feel familiar, but Power BI introduces additional capabilities including data modelling, DAX, interactive visualisations and report publishing.
Do I need coding experience to learn Power BI?
No. You do not need programming experience to start learning Power BI.
Power BI uses Power Query for preparing and transforming data and DAX for calculations and measures. These are covered progressively during our training, starting with the fundamentals before moving to more advanced techniques.
Our Foundations course is designed for learners with little or no previous Power BI experience, while our Advanced course develops more complex DAX and data-modelling skills.
